The daughter's insistence was that I would bathe with soap like Mickey Mouse, then I started making camel-donkey milk soap, today I am a 'brand'
Today a woman is making soaps and other beauty products prepared from the milk of many animals and is getting compliments and awards. This is the story of Sarai Chanagaramkumarath, a resident of Thrissur, Kerala.
Supplies Khadi's own soaps
God has to bow before the insistence of the children, so what about the parents? All the people of Kerala tell that whenever a new soap came in the house, their eldest daughter Kanishka would insist on bathing with it. After bathing, she used to talk a lot on the shape of soap and its fragrance. One day Kanishka said to her mother, "You also make such beautiful soaps for me. She would often insist that mother, you also make soaps of cartoon characters like shapes."
Kanishka wanted her mother to make soaps like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. On the insistence of the daughter, Sari started studying cosmetic science. After this she started preparing soap of her choice for her daughter. Anyone who sees the handmade soaps prepared for daughter, cannot live without praising it. The daughter also liked this work of her mother so much that she also started helping her mother in this work.
Most demand for soap made from donkey's milk
All tell that for these soaps she gets animal milk from Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. She happily says that her hard work paid off on the day when people were surprised to know the specialty of donkey milk soaps prepared by them in an exhibition organized by the government. After seeing this response, the whole heart was very happy. All tell that the milk should not spoil, so they keep it in the fridge only after ordering it.
People also made mouth after hearing the name of donkey's milk.
Sarai tells that when people first came to know about donkey's milk, they made their mouths. They started feeling disgusted. Then Sari informed them about the essential nutrients present in donkey's milk for the skin. He told everyone that Cleopatra used to bathe in donkey's milk too. There were more than 700 donkeys in her palace, whose milk she used to bathe.
In the beginning, collecting milk was a difficult task. Many times one had to wander in search of it and the worry that it would be late to return home. Camel milk has to be imported from Gujarat and Rajasthan. Although now it becomes available in Tamil Nadu also. All have also been associated with the work of social service. She gives painting classes to mentally challenged children. Along with this, she also does storytelling. She has organized about 19 painting exhibitions.
Do not add any kind of fragrance to soap
The specialty of Sari's soap is that it does not have any kind of fragrance. She says that the smell of donkey's milk is like that of children. They also do not add essential oils to the soaps prepared from it because they are prepared for young children. Sometimes they also make soap according to the choice of the customer. The first soap Sari made for Kanishka was in the shape of a whale fish.
Sara, who has been awarded awards for her work, says that two people have always been together in this unique journey of her, one is her father and the other is her little daughter. Sarai does not send her daughter to school, she is doing her home schooling. Sara says that I enjoy soap making a lot, so I never feel that I have a huge responsibility of workshop along with family. Nature lover Sari loves to travel with her two daughters.
